Specimen Drape is a custom made, parasitic design element consisting of hundreds of varieties of Flora Facticius. By entwining itself around pre-existing sculptural forms or architectural “hosts,” Specimen Drape insinuates itself into the domestic sphere and takes on a "stilled-life" of its own. Four types of Specimen Drapes are available, each representing a specific collection of flora. Shown here, Specimen Drape in “Un-Natural Wonders” (for Chandelier), was exhibited by Nicole Hollis Interiors at the San Francisco Decorator’s Showcase, April 2009. Specimen Drapes are also available in “Flora Exotica (rare orchids, ferns and tropical varieties),” “Flora Familia (coveted English Garden varieties),” and “Genus Colonia (exclusively white specimens). Each is unique and sizes vary according to host.
